Merrow Machine is pleased to be introducing its new Merrow Profiler Rail System for automatically butt seaming fabric in a high production textile environment.

The butt seaming market is one of our most important business sectors and arguably what we are best known for. Our new Profiler Rail System (trade mark and patent pending) will strengthen our position in that market and was designed based specifically on input from our distributors and customers. And, it will come at a price lower than other systems currently in use.

The Profiler Rail System is modular and a standard eight-foot version can be packed in just two boxes capable of being shipped by any standard courier like UPS or FedEx. Our approach has been to keep the Profiler" light in weight and based on four-foot increments. Now, customers can invest their money where it belongs: in the rail system, not in the cost of shipping it.

Keeping the profiler modular also allows the customer to buy added length when and if they need it. If a customer owns an eight-foot version of the Profiler" and wants to step up to a 12-foot version, all he need do is purchase a conversion kit. There is no need for him to buy a whole new rail system or to initially purchase more length than he needs "just in case."

Getting "Charged Up" For The Future
The Merrow sewing head on the Profiler runs on battery. One of the biggest frustrations that shop personnel face when butt seaming is electrical cords that are dropped from the ceiling or running along the ground. The sewing head used on the Profiler operates at standard speeds powered by a cordless motor and a rechargeable battery pack. When the battery pack runs low on power, the customer can easily and quickly replace the battery pack with a battery kept in a charging station. Or, the customer has the option of purchasing a "trickle charge" unit that will automatically re-charge the battery each time that the sewing head returns to its "home" position. Spare batteries are sold extra.
The use of a cordless motor makes the Profiler" completely mobile on the factory floor, easier to handle, and is another way we have used real-world input to totally re-think how butt seaming should done.

Safety First
U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Regulations are a major concern with some rail systems. There were too many pinch points. In designing the Profiler Rail System we eliminated every conceivable pinch point, with OSHA in mind. Our intent is to also satisfy all requirements under Europe's CE statutes.

Not only have we eliminated pinch points in our design, but you will notice that the clamping system on the Profiler does not use pins of any type. Rubber strips combined with pressure from the clamping bar are sufficient to hold the fabric in place and they also permit for easy adjustment of the fabric if necessary, something that cannot be done when pins are involved.

The elimination of pinch points on the Profiler also removes groves and tracks where dust and debris can accumulate. A simple wipe-down of the Profiler" and any dust, lint, and scrap is easily removed. At Merrow, we still design machines with the end-user in mind. Keeping The Price Down
With tight budgets in mind, the Profiler is being offered at a special (not including required sewing head). Combined with a Merrow MD3B2-P the total price for a standard set-up is only $5,900.

Four-foot sections can be added for $975 each.

One important point to note, is that the Profiler" cannot be used with previous MD3B2's or 70D3B2's. Due to the use of a cordless motor on the machine head the Profiler must be equipped with a specially modified machine head, either an MD3B2-P or 70D3B2-P. There will be no possibility of a conversion kit for previously purchased MD3B2's or 70D3B2's, and our experience has been that to encourage conversions in the field would not be in the best quality and performance interests of the customer.
